We are Winners!

We are thrilled to announce we are winners!!

Our Group won the Group Partnership of the Year Award from IAM RoadSmart. This award is for an IAM RoadSmart group who worked with an external group, organisation or company and developed the most effective and impactful partnership in support of IAM RoadSmart objectives. ☺

We won because of the impressive work our volunteers all do, from helping out at the CarKraft Young Drivers events through to the massive effort from all our Observers at our frequent Mature Driver Hints and Tips drive days. So far our Observers have conducted 181 Hints and Tips drive with 18 mature drivers then joining our group to undertake their advanced driving course.

Another partnership event where everyone pulled together was the hugely successful Motorway Day we ran with Northants Police for members of the public – and we are organising another one for 2025!

We have partnered with the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner who in 2019 awarded us a grant that allows us to run our young driver scheme. This is where we refund £101 back to our young drivers (under 26) when they pass their advanced test, and to date we have had 18 test passes.

We also do a lot of work with the Northants Safter Roads Alliance, and also provide support for individuals referred to us by Victim Support.

On 14 November our Chair, Steve Groves, attended the award ceremony to collect our award – presented by IAM RoadSmart’s CEO Anthony Kildare (left in photo).
