Firstly, and most importantly, please pass on my thanks to David Reeves for an excellent session on roundabouts and junctions this morning. Really interesting and very well done.
Being from Fife (north of Edinburgh) Northampton obviously isn’t my local group, but the reason for wanting to view the online session today was firstly that I saw it advertised in the weekly IAM RoadSmart email and it looked interesting, but also that due to the recent (and ongoing, especially in Scotland) Coronavirus restrictions then Fife Group are looking into other ways of doing things including online meetings, the use of Zoom or MS Teams, etc. I wanted to see how it could work, and having seen your session today there’s certainly a lot for me to go back and tell the rest of the group committee about, thanks.
Having been a IAM member since 1993, an Observer for more years than I care to remember, currently being and NO and LOA for the Fife Group car section as well as a RoSPA Gold member and previously an ADI, I’m always keen to learn more about driving and road safety. This normally end up with me being disappointed as there is nothing new mentioned, but I’m pleased to say this wasn’t the case today. Turbo Roundabouts were a new one for me, and even the way that David explained some of the things was excellent (and quite likely to be coped now !) So if there are other online sessions then I’d very much like to be able to join these too.
