Observed Drives – Still Suspended

We are disappointed to announce that we will not be resuming observed drives.  We have been  carefully monitoring Public Health England statistics, and taking specialist advice from one of our observers who also happens to be Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science at the University of Northampton.  At the end of August we were cautiously optimistic that we could restart observed drives at the beginning of October.  We canvassed the views of our current Associates, where the majority were in favour of restarting drives, and we purchased PPE for our Observers in the expectation we would resume drives.

However, with the COVID-19 Rate per 100,000 population increasing in all Northamptonshire areas in this last week, we have just taken the decision not to resume observed drives during October.  We will revisit the decision on 26th October with the hope that the situation will be more stable.
