Classroom Sessions

Published on 5th December 2022

We hold our Associate classroom sessions approximately every six weeks. They are about 2.5 hours long, including break, and we provide tea and biscuits!!

These sessions form an important part of our Associates journey to passing their Advanced Driving test. It is a chance to learn about the reasons for the five stages of IPSGA, new techniques for overtaking and techniques such as limit points. Being in a classroom setting, it gives a chance to explore these different techniques and ask questions while not sitting on you car on an observes run! David Reeves even has some model cars he demonstrates some of the techniques with – not sure if this is just so he can play with the cars!!!

The questions raised during the session are varied, and often have not been raised in a classroom before. I sit in on each session and am always surprised at the different things that are discussed and the things I learn each time. This time it was about the braking required (or lack of) on electric cars.

There is also an option for a demonstration drive after the session so you can see the techniques being put into action.

They are well worth attending, either if you have not attended before, or if you want to a brush up before your test. We also welcome Full members who would like to sit in for a refresher.
